Loopwheel fabric is low-tension and soft, making it comfortable to wear. Loopwheel machines are known to weave at a sluggish pace, producing only a single meter of fabric every hour. These machines were the standard from the 1920’s until the 1960’s. After this period higher speed knitting machines took over for efficiency reasons, at the expense of softness and comfort.
