Down Jackets were popularised in the 1930’s. As it became a go-to item for wintery outdoors gear, more variations were developed. In the 1950’s the down vest was introduced, lightweight, compact and with increased mobility by removing the sleeves . This one by The Real McCoy’s is based on probably the most recognisable designs of the period which was originally produced by Eddie Bauer.
The vest is a heavier gilet that works great under a jacket to add a pop of color, or just as a light vest over a sweater on the weekends.
