Originally designed as part of a late 50’s anti-exposure suit, this jacket is made to button into the trousers of the suit. Due to the overall comfort and sheer practicality of the jacket it became a favorite for USN pilots on the ground.
The Real McCoy’s offer a reproduction with all the details you would expect on this jacket. Using Nylon 66 which was at the time a new material with a more heat resistant character than the ones used on previous flight jackets. Knit wool ribbing on the cuffs and collar, a cotton twill lining, Conmar brass zippers and snap buttoned pockets.
As the name suggests this is a great jacket for winter, the combination of the materials makes it able to withstand most winter temperatures.
