The Real McCoy’s Type MA-1 / Statue de la Liberté

 This bomber jacket is The Real McCoy’s at it’s best. A faithfull reproduction of the classic MA-1, one of the most iconic flight jackets of the 20th century with USAF specific patches and stencils.

In the US military, most unit nicknames are unofficial, but the 48th Fighter Wing’s ‘Statue of Liberty Wing’ is officially recognized by the military, and is the name of the base. It was a gift from Chaumont, France.

They are the only units in the U.S. Air Force to have both a unit number and an official name, and like the Statue of Liberty, they are a symbol of U.S.-French friendship.

Nylon 66 was invented by DuPont Co. Nylon 66 is more flame resistant and durable compared to other nylon fibers. The Real McCoy’s have studied the original Mil-Spec formula to replicate its yarn, density and weave, a full original of the brand.
